Professor Angelika Nußberger elected as Vice-President of the Venice-Commission

On Saturday, 11 December 2021, Professor Dr. Angelika Nußberger was elected as one of three vice presidents of the Venice Commission of the Council of Europe. Next to her, Michael Frendo, Malta and Herdis Thorgeirsdottir, Iceland were elected. The new president is Claire Bazy Malaurie. We congratulate Angelika Nußberger on her new position and wish her and the presidency all the best for the tasks ahead. The Venice Commission is the Council of Europe's advisory body on constitutional matters. The Commission's task is to provide legal advice to member states and, in particular, to assist states that wish to bring their legal and institutional structures into line with European standards and international experience in the fields of democracy, human rights and the rule of law.
