Hatice Cemre Akyilmaz

Cemre Akyılmaz graduated from Bilkent University, Faculty of Law in 2015. After graduation, she completed her legal internship and qualified as a lawyer in 2016.

In 2019, she got her master's degree at Gazi University, Institute of Social Sciences. Her master’s thesis was about the legislative power in constitutional law. In 2019, she started her doctoral studies at Ankara University. As of 2022, she continues her doctoral studies at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University with her thesis titled "Positive Discrimination in Turkish Constitutional Law".

Akyılmaz worked as a research assistant at Anadolu University Faculty of Law, Department of Constitutional Law between 2018-2020. Since 2020, she has been working as a research assistant at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University Faculty of Law, Department of Constitutional Law. She is also a lawyer in the Ankara Bar Association since 2016.

Akyılmaz was awarded a doctoral research fellowship by TÜBİTAK (The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Türkiye) and she is currently conducting her PhD studies as a visiting researcher at the University of Cologne, Academy for European Human Rights Protection.
