Prof. Hiromi Ichikawa

Professor Hiromi Ichikawa studied international relations and peace studies. She then worked for 15 years at a junior college training kindergarten teachers and geriatric nurses. This experience deepened her thoughts on peace research, and since 2011 Hiromi Ichikawa has been teaching specialised courses at the Faculty of Law at Kyoto Women’s University. Kyoto Women's University is the only women's university in Japan with a law faculty that emphasises gender perspectives. Her research interests include the study of war from an individual perspective. She is particularly interested in conscientious objection to military service.
