Prof. Dr. Liebin Xie
Professor Dr. Libin Xie was born in 1977 in a village of around 2000 people in Fujian Province, China. He received a bachelor degree in English Literature and a bachelor degree in law from Tianjin University in 1999, a master degree of law from China University of Political Science and Law in 2002, and a doctorate in law from Hamburg University under the supervion of Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult Rolf Stober in 2007 (supported by the Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung with a scholarship). Since 2007 he teaches constitutional law at China University of Political Science and Law. He researched at the German Federal Constitutional Court for around three months in 2011, following the invitation of Prof. Dr. Reinhard Gaier, then a justice of the court. His teaching and research covers Chineese constitutional law and comparative constitutional law (with emphasis on German constitutional law). He has published over thirty articles in Chinese, German and English in jounals like International Journal of Constitutional Law.
2021 he was awarded the Humboldt Research Fellowship for Experienced Researchers from the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation. Currently he is researching at the Academy for European Human Rights Protection about a social property order in China.
