Simon Mensing
After graduating from high school in Ahrensburg, Simon studied law at the University of Münster and Panthéon-Assas in Paris. In the meantime, he completed an additional program in the Anglo-American common law. After his studies, he held positions as a research assistant in the administration of the German Bundestag (Department for International Parliamentary Assemblies) and at the labor law firm AfA.
Since November 2021, he has been a research assistant at the Academy for European Human Rights Protection. He is working on the MEMOCRACY Project "Challenge of populist memory politics for Europe: Towards effective responses to militant legislation on the past" as a member of a joint research team of the Academy, the Asser Institute in The Hague, the Polish Academy of Sciences in Warsaw and the University of Copenhagen.
Apart from research, Simon is interested in photography unconcerned by all its media law aspects, social urbanism, and the search for the next best shawarma.
